Hot And Sour Beef Stir-fry

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces lean beef steaks, cut into thin strips
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 inch piece gingerroot, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 carrot, peeled, cut into thin strips
  • 5 scallions, sliced
  • 1 yellow pepper, seeded and cut into thin strips
  • 1 (7 ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice (juice reserved)
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lime, juice and zest of

Recipe

  • 1 heat the oil in a large non-stick wok or saucepan, fry the meat with the garlic and ginger until browned.
  • 2 add the vegetables and pineapple chunks and cook for 2-3 minutes. meanwhile, blend the remaining ingredients with the pineapple juice.
