Crock Pot Curry Split Pea Soup

Total Time: 10 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 10 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 16 ounces dried split peas, rinsed, drained and picked over
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 6 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 celery ribs, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper (to taste)
  • 2 cups canadian bacon, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 place all ingredients except 1/2 tbls. of the curry powder in a crock pot.
  • 2 cover and cook on low setting for 10 to 11 hours.
  • 3 stir in the remaining 1/2 tbls. curry powder.
  • 4 add more seasoned salt and pepper to taste, if needed.
  • 5 garnish with chopped chives and croutons.
