Crock Pot Curry Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 16 ounces dried split peas, rinsed, drained and picked over
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 6 cups boiling water
- 2 1/2 tablespoons curry powder
- 6 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt (to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper (to taste)
- 2 cups canadian bacon, chopped
Recipe
- 1 place all ingredients except 1/2 tbls. of the curry powder in a crock pot.
- 2 cover and cook on low setting for 10 to 11 hours.
- 3 stir in the remaining 1/2 tbls. curry powder.
- 4 add more seasoned salt and pepper to taste, if needed.
- 5 garnish with chopped chives and croutons.
