Filipino Cube Steak (bistek Tagalog)

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 1/2 lbs of cubed steak
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrot, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup string bean, fresh
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pinch msg
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch (mixed with 1/4 cup of water)

Recipe

  • 1 in a skillet, add water, steak, garlic,, lemon juice, soy sauce, pepper, and msg.
  • 2 bring to a boil and mix well.
  • 3 reduce heat and simmer for about 30 - 45 minutes until the liquid reduces my half.
  • 4 add the onions and green beans and cook until vegetables are tender.
  • 5 add the cornstarch and water mixture and cook until the liquid thickens to the consistency of runny gravy.
  • 6 serve with fresh jasmine rice.
