Crunchy Ramen Noodle Salad

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • seasoning, packet from ramen noodles
  • 1/2 cup distilled vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 (3 ounce) package beef-flavor ramen noodles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 carrot
  • 4 green onions

Recipe

  • 1 combine all the dressing ingredients well. break up the walnuts & the ramen noodles. in a skillet over med. high heat melt the butter & lightly brown the walnuts with the ramen noodles. add the sunflower seeds & cook to golden. drain on paper towels. let cool. meanwhile, wash & tear lettuces into a large salad bowl. cut the bell pepper into thin strips & add to the bowl. shred or slice the carrot into thin strips & add them to the bowl. slice the green onions & add them to the bowl. when ready to serve add the dressing & toss well.
