Family Favorite Beef Goulash (no Tomato)

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 lbs egg noodles, the best brand you can buy
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 large stalk celery, chopped (including leaves)
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (the leaner the better)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, minced
  • 1 lb frozen peas and carrot, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon mild paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) jar fat-free beef gravy

Recipe

  • 1 in large pot, cook egg noodles in boiling salted water until al dente, drain and set noodles aside.
  • 2 in the empty pot, heat olive oil and saute onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and celery until onion is translucent.
  • 3 add ground beef, parsley, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, & pepper. cook until meat is almost done (don't drain), then add peas & carrots and beef gravy.
  • 4 cook until beef is done, then taste and adjust seasonings according to your preference.
  • 5 toss cooked egg noodles in and coat well.
  • 6 serve hot.
