Family Favorite Beef Goulash (no Tomato)

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lbs egg noodles, the best brand you can buy
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 large stalk celery, chopped (including leaves)
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- 1 lb lean ground beef (the leaner the better)
- 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, minced
- 1 lb frozen peas and carrot, thawed
- 1 tablespoon mild paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- salt & pepper
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) jar fat-free beef gravy
Recipe
- 1 in large pot, cook egg noodles in boiling salted water until al dente, drain and set noodles aside.
- 2 in the empty pot, heat olive oil and saute onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and celery until onion is translucent.
- 3 add ground beef, parsley, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, & pepper. cook until meat is almost done (don't drain), then add peas & carrots and beef gravy.
- 4 cook until beef is done, then taste and adjust seasonings according to your preference.
- 5 toss cooked egg noodles in and coat well.
- 6 serve hot.
