Ingredients

- 1 cup cubed ham
- 1/2 cup finely diced celery
- 2 cups water
- 2 (10 ounce) cans low sodium chicken broth
- 1 (19 ounce) can black beans, washed
- 1/2 cup tiny diced carrot
- 1 minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 in a large pot combine all ingredients. bring to a boil - reduce heat and allow soup to gently simmer for approximately 2 hours stirring occasionally. the closer to 2 hours this soup cooks the better it tastes.
